so i listen to kuer fm90.1 it is salt lake cities npr affiliate. i have it on all day at my house and today doug fabrizio (the best interviewer ever) his show radio west had this author on there. the show was everything i agree with, so i think i will read this book. he talked about how he is from the east where old houses are what people buy. but here, the west people want new houses, everything new. nothing old. he talks about how these houses are not well built, they do not come with anything truly custom, or quality. he talks about how people watch hgtv or whatever and they become consumed with the fact that what they have is not good enough. it has to be new...like women and fashion magazines. women getting a complex, that they are not skinny enough, they do not have enough. it was quite interesting. i loved the show. it might air tonight at 7:00 but they have terry gross as a guest at the captiol theater so they might air her. but i believe in old houses, i believe in restoring them, i believe in making the best of what you have and a lovely place to live. a place you want to come home to, but not beyond your means. it talked about people going into great dept and buying huge houses, when they are not that well built and they could possibly not use all that space. anyways, i will see what the book says!
