sara has an entire floor to herself. the entire attic area is a grand spacious laboratory for her. she can fit an entire quilt stand-and do a river dance around it. with other river dancers, holding hands. it is so inspirational, she has three windows on each side, viewing the mountains of the east, and the mountains of the west. what and inspiring place to have all to your own- lucky duck. joe has his studio all to himself as well. and i got to see it. it left me speechless. i was without speech. i was too afraid to ask to photograph it. i have know idea why, but one day i will. i have seen other artists studios, on various blogs, and they don't compare, or come close. i mean he has a cool vintage rem poster on the door. it was amazing.

A friends house tour part one, boys and light savers. (light sabers.)

i love all the legos. love it.

this is my friend sara's house. it is joe's house too. sara and joe have style. joe is a fine artist-sara is artistic and is a pro at really everything. their house it is one of my most favorite houses ever. we went for a visit on saturday, and we had lunch, and bella played light savers. she didn't really know how to play light savers with boys. so she had her light saver, a cape on, and she used her light saver to vacuum the floor. which was not dirty at all, but why not-isn't that what you do with a light saver?

what i like about their house is that everything is personal, loved, crafted, hand made, painted, a family heirloom, personally acquired over time. nothing was just gone out and bought in one day at a store. and if it was you can't tell. i unloaded their dishwasher, and even their dishes are a thing of beauty. the thing i love about interior design is that it really is about people and how they live. its about quality of life, and living in a place that nourishes your soul. sara and joe's house nourishes your soul, and inspires you-and you leave feeling that way.

it is fascinating to me to grow up with friends, then years later see their homes and see how they live. it will never get old to me. i feel lucky to have such cool and inspiring friends. so stay tuned for tomorrow for more photos!

this week i made something different for dinner every night. what i mean is i made a new recipe we hadn't tried before. i made rosemary rolls, that fell just before i was about to bake them. then i mushed them down and tried to make breadsticks. the key word there was 'tried.' we had breakfast burritos, refreshing lemon spaghetti, and tonight we are going to have biscuits and gravy. the recipes were awesome and now we have some new favorites! thank you pioneer woman for your fantastic recipes. i am glad there are people who are skilled in the art of cooking. and then share their recipes for people who are 'challenged' in the art of cooking.

my chamber `a coucher (a fancy word for bedroom)

this post is about me. i got new spectacles. i really really love them. they are dark, big, and have some torta-shell to them. i have no idea how to even spell torta-shell. i am so worried they are going to get broken. it is risky having glasses with an infant and a two year old. but i need to be able to see-so it is worth the risk. i read today a post that talked about 100 skills everyone should master. among them:

keep a plant alive, express condolences, be polite, make your case in writing, feel confident naked, take a decent photo, know what makes you happy....etc.

it was a great post read it. so you can tell me how to use a fire extinguisher. something i think we shouldn't have to learn, and if we do, shouldn't we be taught this in kindergarten? another great post that made me really really happy, is about details. read that one too. it will make you happy too. especially the his and hers photos.

the last photo is of my bed. i was holding jo jo at 5:30p.m. and i was trying to get her to sleep. i looked at my bed, which has become the hub of our home. every baby product you could imagine was on our bed. including baby toys, blankets, laundry, everything. at first it stressed me out, because i began to think of how much i had to do. then i realized that i loved it all. i loved the baby stuff, the diapers the little clothes that had just been freshly cleaned. it made me happy. i thought to myself that i had better not wish my life away, by worrying about all the things i have to do. because one day i will look back and wish i could be back, sitting on my bed, rocking my little baby to sleep, wondering where the time went. good thing i got new glasses, they not only make me look smarter, but they actually make me wiser.
