i took alot of political science classes in college. something i loved, and wished to minor in but i needed to finally graduate and move on, however for this class we were quized on the new york times, so we had to buy one every day. well there was this ad, in the paper, and i loved it, and i have it to frame, (like a million of pictures) but i loved the message...so this being the 4th of july week, i thought i would share it. so enjoy.

it was my dad's birthday last saturday! this post is wayyyyy late. here is my birthday post to him, here are 10 things about my dad that i love!

1-he loves his riding lawn mower as though they were a sportscar. to him they are sportscars. what you ask 'they' yes, he has two. an orange one, and a red one. he can ride whichever one he feel like if he is having a red day, or an orange day. take your pick!

2-at the young age of 64 he can ride his old honda trail 90 motorbike standing up! i can imagine him now, in his sunglasses, dry cleaned t-shirt, and athletic pants. an awesome trick that i think none of his son-in-laws could pull off. (yes, he does get his t-shirts dry cleaned.)

3-he is hilarious, has the funniest sense of humor. he has many many friends due to his fun personality.

4-he also is quite the 'passionate' man to say the least.

5- he loves his family dearly. always getting teary eyed when talking about them, or during family prayers.

6-he used to be a drummer. and got a scholarship to utah state university for it.

7-his terms of endearment for me that make my friends and old coworkers laugh...dammit dani! my hell danielle!

8-he uses phrases like...that's no business. and my personal favorite.... who taught you to say that, i never said that!

9-he is an amazing cook.

10-he is a hard worker and works hard at his job, yard, and family.

11-he had an old volkswagen bug he bought at strong volkswagen in slc. that what light blue, and amazing...and i wish he never sold it.

12-i think he secretly believes in bigfoot, and i think that when i would make him come downstairs to kill spiders late at night, and he would get mad, i think deep down was afraid of those large spiders.

13-he loves police scanners; and he can watch old cowboy shows better then mike tv, on the willa wonka show.

a summer weekend. my love for airstream trailers is undying. here is a good quote for us all. so i saw these photos on http://www.poppytalk.blogspot.com/ and i needed to post them....because summer should look like this...i guess because i have been thinking about the movie dirty dancing w/patrick swayze, and i loved that movie and the bottom picture reminds me of that movie. i have not seen it forever. however it is a great summertime movie. so i am trying to think of great summertime movies...the sandlot is great as well. the great outdoors is a classic. my sister would prolly say pollyanna, which is classic, she is probably at home watching it right now. but i am at blank. if you have any good ones do tell.

i want my house to have good messages for my family. i have this poster thing i bought that i think has a great message that says....love who you are. but i decided the poster is kind of ugly. even though it was purchased only months ago. so i think i will screen print that message on something. nonetheless i love this coat hanger from rocket st. george.

so there is this blog called:http://www.vintagechildrensbooksmykidloves.com/ and this lady writes about childrens books, and i think this is very interesting. today her post had this picture and the book called "old black witch"by Wende and Harry Devlin/ published 1963. this particular book is about a boy and his momma who buy an old house to open a tearoom, they are shocked by what they find hiding in the chimney.

Suddenly, SQUAWK! THUMP! And down from the chimney fell a big, black mess. It was covered with cobwebs and made terrible sounds. It stumbled out of the fireplace into the room. What are the most important things to consider when living in a small space?

so tell me this would not freak you out. i have my comments moderated. so i get a comment and i check it and it is from a person named laura. and that is it and it says this.....

needless to say, i was freaked. especially the comment......be careful cinderbella. what is that a threat?! i am in panic mode here. panic sirens going off. i look at sitemeter and i see nothing out of the ordinary. i see the time posted and it said 7:32. then when someone leaves you a comment on blogger it shows their name that you can click on. so i click on it. the blog was made just today, and has a chilling u tube thing about marliyn monroe. so i click on her profile, and nothing, and i am the 8th person to view the blog. so obviously this person is a new blogger, and how could they find me. so i play the u-tube movie, and it talks about her death or whatever and so at this point. i am not ready to freak out, i am freaking out. i think do i erase my blog, make it private, does this person know me? so i am about and get my pepper spray and hide by bellas door. well bryan gets home and it is like 9:30. and i show him the comment, and he is like yeah this is a little wierd. and we are thinking of what to do. so we see erin is online so i email her and say would this not freak you out.......and i paste the comment on instant messaging...and erin goes...that is from me. i made that comment. i said well who the heck is laura? laura is her medical student friend that was at her house and made a blog today, to do with a pyscology class. oh man. did we just feel SO SO relieved. what a mix up. bless us that erin was online, who knows how many people she freaked out tonight. so this mysterious laura, terrifying the leathams, was just this pretty little momma.

so ms. bella, has learned to pull herself up...she has been doing this for like 2 weeks? however a new thing is, doing this in her crib. this is her the other night, standing up for the first time in her crib. however she has not learned when, or how to let go. today as i was paying bills. i was trying to get her down for a nap, when i heard her crying, as though in distress. so i go into her room, and she is holding on and doing the horizontal spilts. (not really, but she her legs were very far apart.) i hope she learns that she can let go soon!

i have a fascination with small home living. i think it is amazing how people live, and how creative they are with storage, and how they make it work. i really think that today people want something big, just to have a big house, when rooms sometimes never ever, get used. (just like kitchens in the basement. a waste of money.) nonetheless, i was reading apartment therapy and they had this quote from the latest dwell magazine, which i get, and have not finished reading it yet....

"Why glorify the small home (March 2008)? A small home might serve its purpose for a progressive couple, but anyone with kids or a family will soon realize that 1,000 square feet is never going to be enough. Living small seems responsible at first, but living that small will never catch on. Living modest might: Modest homes of 2,500 square feet, and creative ways to fit and furnish them, are a burgeoning trend, and I'd like to see this aspect of responsible living explored more."

bella hiding in her car seat while we are traveling.
so, after the volkswagen was totaled. we got a 1999 or 97 nissan maxima. anyways, the past couple of weeks i would go to the store, as i was walking away from my car, i would look at my car and make sure the windows were up, and the doors lock. then after my purchases. i would come back out and the window and the passanger door windows would be rolled down. i would say to myself, oh i am sure i just wasn't thinking. well this happens 4 or 5 times. each time i think that i am just going bonkers that something is wrong with me, and i would kick myself for my lack of security. then last week i called bryan and i said listen, everytime i park the car, i make sure the windows are up, and i go into the store, i come out and the windows are down. he was thinking it was all me. and i was not paying attention. so as we were driving to island park this weekend we had npr on. we were listenting to car talk with Tom & Ray Magliozzi who are the hosts. a caller had called in the previous week, the show is on saturday mornings, and he had the same problem as me. he kept parking his nissan and then he would come back and the windows would be down. i don't know what happened, but this week a bunch of listeners emailed and is that on your keyless entry if you press the lock button for longer the windows down. so that is what i have been doing! bless me that i am not losing my mind! bryan and i got to island park we tested this and it is true. so needless to say, i am glad i am not losing my mind!

this weekend was a blast! we went to island park, to have lunch with some friends. then we went to mystic falls. and it was so pretty. i even did movies on my camera so others could hear the beautiful waterfall however it didn't work. there is nothing like a good waterfall, the smell, sounds and misties. we had a blast! bella was tuckered out and had dry skin, so after we went home. however it was just so beautiful and fun and nice to be together as a family.

today is about all things red. i am in a red mood, or maybe i love red, whatever the reason i love both these things. i love the lanterns. and i love this sign, however i do think it is sad they are having a 'closing down sale.' i would by the sign if i could. i am excited that it is friday, which means time with bryan! yeahhhh!

so in this barn, where horses run and play, and cowboys and cowgirls practice. there is an owner of a vintage vw bug. i don't know who owns it, but i like that it frequents there. nonetheless, the lady who owns it, she is in the age bracket of 50-80's she has long white blonde hair, that is curly and she wears a cowgirl hat. i am not certain she owns it, but she is cool. and one day i hopefully will be able to snap a photo of her!

happy birthday! it is nicHole's birthday today. she is 20 10 and

a little extra. this picture is of nicole right when bella was born and i was having the hardest time. nichole literally came and saved the day. bella had to be under the lights, i did not feel good, hated for bella to be under those hellish lights, and it was horrible. then nichole came, saved bella, saved me and our house. cooked, cleaned and bought a TON of groceries to feel the army, and took care of bella. which to this day bella is grateful for. she gave nichole her first kisses, when she would not kiss even her own mother. bella knew what was going on, and those were kisses of thanks, and probably a plead for her not to leave! anyways here are 10 things about nichole that i appreciate.

1-she is very compassionate, she would do anything for anyone in need. one time she bought like 80 turkeys for jesus saves, during thanksgiving.

2-she loves old time movies, like the unsinkable molly brown, among others. and still watches little house on the prarie.

3-she loves to surprise people, and is VERY generous.

4-she is an amazing bookeeper, and accountant.

5-she is a born leader

6-she loves babies, and is very good with them.

7-she is festive, LOVES halloween, christmas, easter, thanksgiving, all holidays.

8-she is an amazing cook. and loves kirts drive in...like all good and respectable hunts.

9-she is fun to play games with

10-she secretly loves all times of music, even rap music, even though she has know idea what the words are saying, as long as the beat is good. BAHHH!

11-she is most happy when she is bossing. if she were a cattle ranchers wife, she would be known for her phrases on the prairie like...'round em up, and move em' out! and she would mean it.

12-she uses phrases like.. nip it, funny bryan, and an old classic....oh my laws.

13-she always let me borrow her clothes when i was in jr high, and self doubting, and awkward. and she had the best clothes. i always got to borrow them and that made me feel better.

happy monday everybody! sometimes my brain feels like the 2nd picture. like a cluttered mess. i need to have it be organized like the first photo. bryan and mine's closet has a big shoe tub. and it is impossible to find any shoes, and it makes you made when you are in a hurry and i want a specific pair of shoes and i have to throw all the shoes out to put them back in. like lately i think maybe just get rid of those shoes and keep the really great ones. like have 4 pairs(not including athletic shoes.) just 4 really great pairs. i need to get the courage and do that, i think i would be happier and so would bryan and so would my closet.

so my parents are moving things around at their home, and my mum sent me home with a bunch of paper, and i was going through the paper, and found this essay that i wrote, and i liked it. because today is kind of a day where i need to remember that i wrote something about being postive and that life is all about attitude. it had a few of my 'it' moments that i wrote a few years ago. i had written all my 'it' moments. and some of my friends did as well. so this is my challenge to all of you. please write your 'it' moments and post them. so here i go i know i will have to add to these:

i love these old dairy bottles, they make a great display. i love to use old bottles like this for flower vases as well. my favorite ones are glass evian bottles. you do not feel bad giving a friend a display of flowers with the neat bottle. they are just cool all by themselves!

sometimes i think people think that this blog is 'worldy' that i am all about materialistic things, and i want to go out and spend money. that is not the case at all. i really believe strongly in the home. i believe it creates who you are. effects your mood. there is scientific evidence that proves this. i found this quote by robert frost, and it really says how i feel.
