summer eye candy, right now, and popsicles.

hello.

right now:

i wish i could upload my photos of this past weekend on the computer to share with you.

we went to the sidewalk chalk are festival.

we played on the water fountain.

we ate ice cream.

we went to a lovely wedding at needles lodge in snowbasin.

we enjoyed the scenery.

we enjoyed seeing old friends.

now i am listening to npr. kuer fm 90.1

i hear the sounds of jo jos music melody on her crib, bella is running up and down the hall, and i hear the summer sounds of a lawn mower, and children playing.

it is not yet ten in the morning, and bella wants a popsicle.

i have not yet done the breakfast dishes.

i want to lay in a hammock and read a good book, or watch anna green gables.

how is your summer going?

is everyday a popsicle day?

cabins. airstreams. mom. and things i want.

i love this little cabin.

the owner wrote a book about it. i want to read it. i am a nerd like that. i love to read books about houses, and buildings, and design, but i think you would love it.

mom if you read my blog, please buy it for me. and maybe one for each of my readers.

and if you can't do that, then at least buy it for me, so i can read it then lend it out....

this week i was driving, and the song on dirty dancing came on, where they are at the grand finale dance.... the i had the time of my life song,.....and i thought about cabins. and i thought about airstreams. i thought when bdogs and i finally get settled somewhere, we will achieve our dream of buying an old airstream, we will refurbish it, and i will make the interior look like an old new cabin.

so here is a quote to one of my favorite summer movies:

Johnny:" Sorry for the interruption, folks, but I always do the last dance of the season. This year somebody told me not to. So I'm gonna do my kind of dancin' with a great partner, who's not only a terrific dancer, but somebody... who's taught me... that there are people willing to stand up for other people no matter what it costs them. Somebody who's taught me about the kind of person I wanna be. Miss Frances Houseman."

a story of june 15th.

so i gave myself and imaginary deadline of june 15th.

on june 15th we were going to get a phone call and bdog would get his dream job, we would find out where we would be moving, and it was going to be a great day.

instead on june 15th, we got several phone solicitations, i woke up with puffy peepers, my mother ended up in the emergency room, (she is doing well, and is home), and we got yelled at a drive up window, by an order taker who didn't listen to us order, and when our order ended up wrong, he came to the window and yelled at us.

it was one hit after another.

then we went to the store. ms. bella found a toy grocery cart and needed it. badly. we bought it.

then we took her up to see my mom at her house. bella played hard with her little grocery cart, she ran as fast as she could with it, shopped for groceries in the trees, and as the wind blew, she laughed and told me she loved the wind. even though it almost blew her cart away.

this night ended up at 11:00 p.m. having homemade smoothies, pretzels, and a little bit of junk food, watching an episode of our favorite television show on hulu.

and right now, i hear my favorite sound of the summer, crickets and sprinklers.

so what i learned on june 15th. no more imaginary deadlines. i just need to enjoy living, dream job or not.

"That was rough.... Thing to do now is try and forget it.... I guess I don't quite mean that. It's not a thing you can forget. Maybe not even a thing you want to forget.... Life's like that sometimes... Now and then for no good reason a man can figure out, life will just haul off and knock him flat, slam him agin' the ground so hard it seems like all his insides is busted. But it's not all like that. A lot of it's mighty fine, and you can't afford to waste the good part frettin' about the bad. That makes it all bad.... Sure, I know - sayin' it's one thing and feelin' it's another. But I'll tell you a trick that's sometimes a big help. When you start lookin' around for something good to take the place of the bad, as a general rule you can find it. ~From the movie Old Yeller

the details of living.

a single flower in a vase, on a sink makes such a statement.

"we must carefully remind ourselves of our brief visit on this planet. shouldn't we try to express ourselves clearly, make a personal stamp on our environment, and pay attention to the details that make the difference? " -charlotte moss

my neighbors have poppys that are blossoming, they are salmon, and a bright deep pink. i look at them whenever i am doing the dishes.

bella calls me 'danielle' and told me that my music is too loud for her liking. she takes after bdog.

joley has decided that she will eat pureed food no more. and she wants to do everything her sister does.

sometimes talking to a friend on the phone, who understands you, is exactly what you need.

waiting, waiting, waiting, for news on a job, and moving on in life, is hard. what helps is when your husband brings home ben and jerrys ice cream. and you each get your own carton, so you don't have to share.

bringing home fresh flowers from my mothers garden, makes my house smell good, and makes me feel happy whenever i look at them.

remembering that life is all in the details....makes me feel like i am on the right track.

i am thankful for details.

activities of the past week, some eye candy, and some thoughts.

i went here...to a lovely wedding. it was a beautiful day, perfect for romance.

who says you can't have a pretty lamp, and artwork in a kitchen?

we need to do this more. or maybe for a first time.

i need a pretty girly picnic like this.

i love this front porch.

this week we went to the salt lake temple for a lovely wedding. it was perfect, even the weather needed some sweet romance.

i went for an evening drive, and we drove past a lovely green field, and i saw a cowgirl in her late 50's plowing a lovely green field. and i thought that is exactly what i wanted to do on a summer night at dusk. she even had a cool vintage tractor. maybe when i am fifty-ish.....

i watched my favorite tennis player win the french open. i love people with passion.

we had a picnic lunch,. raisin bread, with peanut butter, and bananas. and of course, cheese doritos.

i rocked and sang my soul out to some alabama classics.

this summer cannot go by, without watching a movie outside. at dusk. (isn't it crazy how you have to make your goals for the summer, before it ends all to quickly?)

we had root beer floats, and big sticks for dessert tonight.

right now we have the windows open, we are listening to the birds outside, and our children laughing in their beds, bdog is reading, and there are pretty clouds in the sky.

i love summer nights.

i think summer is finally here.

don't you?
