sometimes i think i was meant to live by the ocean. i love the sound the smell, i like to see the boats. i would not go as far to say as though and sing a pirates life for me, i do hate water that i cannot see under. for example i hate dams. you cannot see underneath you. and i deteste that!

being a new stay at home mom, i wonder where the time goes. yesterday i swear all i did was go to the store, and clean up messes. and i only have one baby! i did drop a bag full of gerber glass foods, and that took awhile to clean up, broken glass, and goop everywhere. when bryan came home i was exhausted, he asked what i did, and i had nothing to say. i do not want to wish my life away at all, but i do look forward to our first home. where i can paint the walls stark white, and wallpaper a hallway or bathroom, do as i please. i like the above quote because beauty is the things you see day to day, that can become mundane they are the small things. i have thought about this and beauty to me being at home all day. some new things i think are beatiful that i have never thought of, is laundry folded so neat and nice. my kitchen towell drawer, a clean kitchen, scoured sinks, the sound of the washer and dryer, the smell of clean laundry. a baby covered in head to toe, mashed up fruit and cheese. beauty is all around us, we do need to create beauty in our homes, not just by keeping our house clean, or adding a vase of garden flowers, or adding to our home with furnishings, but our attitude in our home also makes it a beautiful place to live and grow, and learn, and to be.

so pioneer woman had a great post today i thought i would share my thoughts. her question was...whether their life resembles the life they used to imagine for themselves. for me i would say not at all. i never thought i would live in a small town in idaho. i never would have guessed idaho ever in a million years. i am madly in love with a scientist. i am a mother, and i love every minute of it, i love it because it is my baby girl whom i love so much that made me a mother, but i love it. i never thought i would have accomplished the things i have so far, but i have. i never would change anything. not a single thing, (except for all the cookies i have been eating this week, but if it came down to it, i wouldn't change that either.) so leave a comment if you would like about your life. here are some good quotes from the spot, you need to check her blog out and read the entire thing.

today we got up and bryan was ready to go running. and i wanted to sleep in, so then he started getting ready which he knows that i will then jump out of bed and get ready, not to be left behind. so we went and i am so glad we did, i love the morning. the early morning now, 7:30 is not that early i know, but it is still nice to be up early and going. i have felt so tired and gross lately and it is amazing how getting up for excercise makes you feel a good tired. i have to post all the pictures i can of summer that i love, for summer is coming to an end faster then i know what to do! so i hope you enjoy the first photo, and the second, i just LOVED so i had to post it. i love the wall paper and the frame.

i love when it becomes evening and then you see a structure like this with all the lights on, and it just looks cozy and fun. usually one only happens to see this in magazines and movies, but there is a road in bountiful bryan and i love to drive on, and there is a house tucked in the trees, and in the evening the house always has cozy lamps on inside and it just looks inviting, and cozy. i love summer evenings.

happy monday everybody!

weekend project. so i decided to paint my stools that i got from my mother in law. and i do not like them. and they will have to be repainted. the 'numbers were initally supposed to be a dark grey, but i had trouble with the stencil, so i ended up screen printing them with black ink, since i had no grey ink. i like the numbers, but when i got them inside i realized i do not like the white paint. it is too starch for our apartment tile and kitchen. and i do not want to notice the stools. if you know what i mean. i always have to do things a couple of times before i like them. and i CANNOT relax. so now i am gonna go pick out another color today. decisions, decisions. i loved this photo of baby girl. if looks could kill. she was not too pleased with me during the moment of the photo. however we did have a really fun weekend, we drove to logan and went window shopping and ate lunch, and the drive was so pretty. it was nice to be together!

there is something i just love about the end of july and august. it is time to get ready to go back to school. when we were little we had a 'scheduled' day to go school supply shopping. and it would be an individual day for each of my sisters. she would take us one on one down to kings, back then they had the 'best' school supplies, they had everything. and it was completely heaven. i love the smell of school supplies, the pencils, pencil boxes erasers, crayons. it was the best and so much fun to just be one on one with my mom doing something fun like this. then the new clothes, wearing hot clothes in sepetember because they were new, and for winter, but you had to wear them because you wanted to look good, and as though you had changed over the summer. i like to see school buses, and yes i had to ride the bus, but there is nothing like getting on the bus for the first time, the smell of it, and the quiet stares from everyone. i love this time of year, getting ready for another school year to learn, and educate ourselves, even if we have long since graduated from college, the next weeks i am going to put together my own syllabus of great books and projects for the leathams. i love the above photo, it reminds me of putting the summer stuff away and preparing for fall.

it is one of my closest comrads birthday today, ms. amanda sprinkels, so here is to you ms. manda! here are 10 things i am just fond of:

1-if ever i got in a fight, or had to go fight, i would take manda. she is the one of the littlest, toughest gals in the west, and she has your back, she would go down with you if she had too. she believes in being a lover not a fighter, but she will fight when called to action.

2-if i am having a bad day or outraged by something or someone, i call her and she completely agrees and gets just as angry if not more.

3-she has the sayings of an 80 year old cowgirl. this is one of them, 'the cheese has slidden of her cracker!'

4-she loves diet coke.

5-she plays quote trivia from movies, and can get most of them. she loves movies.

6-she is so organized it frightens me to the core of my not organzied life, namely purse.

7-whenever i get 'projects' she is ALWAYS willing to help and do what is needed. just a few, are spending hours on my portfolio, christmas design, plus doing the actual chirstmas design, etc.

8-she is classy.

9-she is wicked smart and got a 4.0 throughout college and her life.

10- she is hilarious, very witty. if i needed something good to say i would call her on my lunch break, or email her.

11-she returns all my purchases for me that i am too afraid too, or that bryan will not do.

i love these rooms for babies and kids. i love the uses of colors and patterns, that are classic, and never go old. it makes me laugh because i see this alot, but there is always articles in magazines and websites about doing a nursery on a budget. and the budget must be thousands of dollars, because they always have the most expensive crib, with the most expensive bedding. when we were shopping for bellas crib, we found one i loved, and got a great deal. i watched pottery barn everyday to see when the sheets would go on sale and i bought alot of them between 5 and 10 dollars, and i loved them all. hers is still a work in progress, but i love to change her sheets and use pretty ones, and fun ones! that to me was a budget. photogs:http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/

the 4th of july came and went. it was fun, and i ended up staying an extra week, because my sister was here from arizona, and who knows when i will see her. it was nice. the carnival i did on the 4th for the family was a success, so plans for next year are a go. my vacation was fun, there was alot of lounging around, playing with kids, getting almost eaten by a starving fox. and i guess all of this made me so tired and worn out that i have a nasty cold, and feel quite feverish. however i did make time to blog. so i guess i am okay....for this hour. i cannot believe how this summer has gone by. as soon as august comes, summer is gone, and fall is here,which means halloween and the school supplies! things are just going by so quickly....

we are packin' up and headin' out tomorrow morning! we were supposed to leave today, but due to the love of science...we are heading out tomorrow morn! i love the 4th of july, i love the jets that fly over the parade, the smell of fireworks, just the whole bit! so i hope you all have a grand holiday!
