i know i keep posting about this but i am so amazed at this situation. ihttp://www.designmom.com/ declared today 8/28/2008. for silent auctions to help raise money for the family. i am so amazed how generous people are, on both sides, the things being offered to give, and the amounts people willing to spend to buy. it makes me so humbled and teary eyed. it is amazing to me. how the world can be changed by a simple idea, a random act, and by a family.
I promised my sister that I'd keep her children safe and well-loved. And expressed my immense love for her. I feel an ocean of love for her. A galaxy. It almost engulfs my humanity. Then I left Christopher in the room alone with her so that he could make some promises of his own. I am left to wonder when I will see her again, and in what state? But I feel at peace....
The heros of this story have been my rallying family. Each sister (blood and law) have assigned themselves days of the week to take over the children, laundry or meals. Niece and nephews are volunteering one of their weekend nights so that Lucy and Ric, Chup and I can go out on dates. Cousins show up every morning to walk Claire and Jane to school together and arrive after school to drop them (safely) home. Of course, these are all done with immense compassion, linking us all together and giving our relationships renewed purpose...
But most of all, as part of our LDS doctrine, we are fully aware of the sacredness of the soul. And we believe in a Father in Heaven who has a plan for our souls. There is something about walking through the valley of the shadow of death that reminds us how glorious it is to have a body and a spirit. And we look forward to the day when both will be inseparable.Where is the tragedy here?
it is an incredible story. sometimes in the news and around we see thoughtless actions of other people not caring about other people, then a story like this comes along, and people only knowing people over a blogspot come together and do their part to serve and to help. but it also shows how family is so important giving what she says, our relationships a renewed purpose. it is incredible.

i LOVE these childrens rooms. i love the bright white walls, with the bursts of calm color. they just make me feel quite peaceful, and calm......and happy!
i am now okay with summer to be packing up and movin on! i love the fall, the farmers market. i love the crisp fall air, chunky sweaters, carmel apples, college football, baseball finals, good tomatoes, corn, pumpkins. leaves flyin' about, i am getting excited! plus good old country music and movies, and books.
this is when bella first came home from the hospital, and that was the toughest day at the hospital, we were supposed to go home in the morning, but then we found out that i had pneumonia, (the early stages.) we had to do chest x-rays and mri's to make sure it was not blood in my lungs. we waited for the radiologist who could not be found, we waited and waited. the hospital was doing a drill with the swat team if a baby is taken, and people were running everywhere, there was an alarm going off that sounded like a dinosaur. we were packed by 11:00 and i was not discharged until 3:30. so i was so relieved when we got to leave, and get home. we took this movie, i think accidently, but we are so glad we did, if you listen close you can hear her cute newborn noises. last night early in the morning i heard baby girl coughing and crying, so i get up and i go in and smell vomit. it was so so sad. the first vomit experience. bryan gave her a bath while i washed the sheets and the bed. and sometimes i know this sounds strange but at moments like this i realize i am a mom! i know that i am a mother, but sometimes it just hits me. i really love being a mom. she is amazing too me and i love that i get to be her mom and be home with her. whenever we go home and visit family bryan always says the comment to his mother she is so huge...she is getting so big. he says this too me all the time, but his mother always says...'we'll she is no bigger then tyson." baby girls cousin born 2 weeks apart. but what bryan really means is, my how the time goes by, and to us, she is huge, and the time has just gone in a flash. in a few days bella will be 1 year! we cannot believe and how the time does fly by.
this looks very interesting....
lately i have been thinking about how great design can be in unexpected places. places we use very often, a few times a day. even if we do not own a home or are renting (like me) i have a hand me down armoir. and i painted it a cool blue and the inside is and orangie color. and i keep all my linens in it. and i love it. i love to fold the bed sheets, blankets and pillowcases and i love to put them away. like this closet for example, the black chandelier, and the paisley wallpaper. i love it. it would be so nice to go into the morning and night, and get dressed, and putting away clothes would not be so bad. i once saw a pantry that was painted the coolest shade of a rose pink, the pantry was long and narrow, like most pantries, however it was adored with a great chandelier as well the paint and chandelier made it the coolest pantry ever. and i thought every time one would go in the pantry they would be happy, just like this closet. we spend alot of money on living rooms that we seldom go in, and kitchens in the basement which i think are a COMPLETE waste of ones money,(unless you rent it out.) how many times are we in closets, pantries and laundry rooms a day, and how just making them cool, will really enhance our day. photog:http://www.housebeautiful.com/decorating/send-picture-closet-0908
this i believe on npr, had a great post today so i thought i would share it, and ask my mother these same questions because i am curious what did she hang on her bedroom wall?
i totally feel like this picture is a picture of my summer, just flying by! i cannot believe how quickly life is going. last week i went out and hung out with my sister #1 and her baby #3, and it was fun, we got spoiled by nicole, baby girl reaked havic with her cousin, (he had to share his mom, house and toys.)we watched jane austin movies every night, went to costco and target, and went for rides to spring mountain, saved spring mountain from fire destruction, but good to my fire watch 08' we called 911 and it was saved within the nick of time. it just flew by. so today i have lots of laundry to do, bills to pay, and menu planning, fix my computer that had a bad windows vista security upload, and now i fear my computer is ruined forever, and watch the olympics. but i do love mondays for some reason, the force people to get back to business, and kick off the week!
