and then...home. tonight i have been thinking about entry ways. and exit ways. what is the first thing that we see when we walk into our home after we have had a day. what are the last things we see as we bid adieu? (i always see my television, the side of it. which REALLY, really, really, bothers me. (believe me i LOVE space planning. i have arranged our furniture many times, due to the small space, the outlets, as of tonight it is the only place that works.) then i thought about home...and my home. which is a townhouse, designed and furnished on a meager student budget.then i wondered what bryan thinks, and if coming home too him feels so so good as it does too me. i wonder if he enjoys or appreciates that i do my best to make things hip and happenin' and clean. and that there is always toilet paper, and fruit punch to drink, and that the fridge is full. when i worked i would leave early, and i loved the early early morning. to be out and hear the birds, see the orchard. listen to npr on the way to work and see the sunrise over the beautiful salt lake mountains. then as i would come home, i would immediatly change my clothes, wash my face. and get some laundry going. (a sound and smell i love.) and i would feel so refreshed and full of gladness to be home. a place for relaxation.
now that i am the mothership, home has a many more functions, besides relaxation and peace. it is my workplace, my design studio, my restaurant, the lab for my mothershipping adventures. i usually do not leave for long periods so the need to come home and change out of my work clothes does no longer happen. my routines are totally different. i love the start of a new morning, when i straighten up, get the laundry going, turn on npr, open the windows, let the
sunlight and the nice breeze blow in. i love to be home. and i still feel full of gladness to be home.
then i wondered what baby girl thinks. this home is her workplace, her design studio, her eating establishment, a lab for her learning adventures. her own relaxation studio. what do i want her to think about when she leaves to go to school, or come home from playing. what does she think now? the home is so important for many reasons. then i thought about how i believe this is an important subject. then i got worried for one second if i should post this because this may not make any sense to anyone but me.....then i found this quote to justify my feelings....
Don't let anyone rob you of your imagination, your creativity,
or your curiosity. It's your place in the world; it's your life.
Go on and do all you can with it, and make it the life you want to live.

i can't wait until the day when i have a place that feels like home to me. it seems for the past year we've been living in other people's places with other people's stuff, and my imagination just goes crazy thinking of the things i will do to my own space when i get back to the states. but i need to live in the now and try to make every place i live in feel like a peaceful and familiar. i like this post danyell.
You are so deep I wish that I could be a little more reflective like that.
