a good woman.
i read eleanor roosevelts autobiography. and i loved it. i think she is wise, and very cool. so one day, i went to lunch with jenny hirschi. at rainbow gardens. we ate lunch, and began to browse around the shop. i found the above photo of eleanor in a very large print. i mean very large. it was so large i could barely fit it into my car. yes, i purchased it. the quote on the bottom said, "no one can make you feel inferior without your consent." now, i was a recent college grad, new to working my job. and my job was hard, and i didn't know what i was doing. i needed to see a quote like that everyday, from a wise, lady, with wrinkles, and a cool hat. well i got home. bdog~well he was quite speechless. needless to say he hadn't read her autobiography and if he had, well, this story would still had the same ending. we didn't have space for that gigantic poster in our home. which is true. we tried it for a few days, and if i had my own home office, i would have kept it, and i really cannot figure out why just didn't take it to work, because that is where i really needed it. so it was returned. perhaps one day eleanor, perhaps one day.

danielle. i have a story for you. do you and your girls read the olivia books? they are some of fox's favorites. anyway. in the book 'olivia saves the circus,' olivia has on her wall a poster of a very cool old woman, and i love that picture. i want it for my home very, very badly, but i didn't know who the old woman was until just now. it's ELEANOR freaking ROOSEVELT. you solved my mystery. and now i want to read her book. i heart eleanor.
i love this story. i remember laughing when you told me that b-dog had "VETOED" the life size pic of mrs. roosevelt. i'm sorry you didn't get to keep your poster, and i know how much you love eleanor. you said it perfectly..."perhaps one day, eleanor, perhaps one day."
I would not have Vetoed a life size portrait, however the poster of this prolific woman was in fact larger than life.
i just know you will have that picture hanging in a very fashionable home office one day. i never knew that quote was from her.... i love it.
